Thomas M. Murray
Managing Director
Thomas Murray joined Byrnam Wood as managing director in 2005 from Cushman & Wakefield where, early in his career, he received the firm's award as the highest producing salesperson in the Metropolitan New York region.
One of his specialties, as a seasoned advisor and broker with fifteen years' experience, has been the negotiation of leases for telecom and related technically-oriented tenants. He has been involved in the leasing of more than 1,200,000 square feet for switching facilities in New York, Boston and elsewhere in the United States.
He was a member of the team that handled the leasing of 2,100,000 square feet for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in its former headquarters complex at 11 Madison Avenue to such prominent tenants as Credit Suisse First Boston, Omnicom and AON. He also represented Bowne & Co., Inc., the leading financial printing firm, in its move from that industry's traditional Hudson Street location to 55 Water Street — a landmark transaction.
At Byrnam Wood, he has welcomed the open environment of teamwork, with its supportive, cooperative and unselfish long-term approach to problem-solving, taking whatever time is needed for appropriate research and client coordination.
He is a graduate of Hofstra University with a B.A. degree.
