Philip Sprayregen began his career in the mid-1970's at Huberth & Huberth then moved to CB Richard Ellis where, for more than eighteen years, he was one of the firm's top producers and most sought-after professionals, developing long-term relationships with such clients as Morgan Stanley, Northwestern Mutual Life, Nike and Ropes & Gray.
From early in his tenure at CBRE, he focused on "tenant advocacy," at the time a path less traveled. This point of view, supported by his growing expertise and depth of experience, increasingly put him at odds with the assembly line-approach that large firms must exploit to reach the goals they define as success.
He saw a natural fit with Byrnam Wood, a firm without conflicts of interest, prizing integrity, intelligence, cooperation and efforts focused solely on each client's behalf. He also welcomed the boutique environment where the principals themselves perform the tasks that they sell.
