When Seagram was sold and longstanding U.S. distribution rights of Absolut Vodka reverted to Swedish distiller Vin & Sprit, V&S came to us with a difficult problem: they needed a U.S. headquarters immediately to satisfy licensing requirements, as well as a long-term home to be selected, designed and built to reflect the stature of the brand. We met with management in Stockholm, gained an understanding of the culture and sensibilities of the company, and promptly began to solve the problem.
Working with top management in New York and in Stockholm, we negotiated a lease to provide for short term space that was dovetailed with the design and construction of tower space with Park views (there are very few tall buildings in Sweden). We helped to interview the principal members of the project team, and coordinated input from all of them as negotiations, design and costing went forward. We also worked with the landlord to ensure that critical possession of short-term space was accomplished on time.
As a result of our work Absolut has a first class new home in the United States from which to market its prominent and expanding family of brands.
