 Tom Murray joined Byrnam Wood as Managing Director in 2005, from Cushman & Wakefield. He is a seasoned advisor and broker with twelve years of experience. Early in his career he received C&W's award for highest producing salesperson in the metropolitan New York region.
One of his specialties was the negotiation of leases for telecom and related technically oriented tenants. Ultimately he negotiated more than 1,200,000 sf of leases for switching facilities in New York City, Boston, and elsewhere in the U.S.
He was a member of the team that successfully handled the leasing of 2,100,000 sf of space for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company at its former headquarters complex (11 Madison Avenue) to prominent tenants such as Credit Suisse First Boston, Omnicom and AON. He also represented Bowne (the financial printing firm) in its move from the traditional Hudson Street home of the printing industry to 55 Water Street, a landmark move that virtually no other major financial press was able to achieve.
